Acts 1:1-11
CONSIDER
What scenes and plots come to mind in the Book of Acts? You may remember the work of the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the early church. Maybe also the places that the Apostle Paul had in his mission journey while spreading the Good News and building up local churches. Or the persecutions the early church faced when witnessing Christ in their lives. How do all these relate to us in 2023?
Jesus demonstrates His Mission on earth and extends His Commission to us: to continually press on and be His witnesses to the ends of the world until He comes back! It is our turn to carry on His Mission. Do you capture Jesus’ heart for the world?
Jesus calls us to be part of this team and continue to walk on this faith journey. With the power of the Holy Spirit and the grace of our Heavenly Father, we TOGETHER can continue to be His effective witnesses on earth! Let’s get ready and prepare for the journey ahead!
Looking forward to seeing you and worshipping our God together this coming Sunday!

PRAY
Dear Heavenly Father, may you open our hearts and allow us to be mindful and attentive to your calling and our purpose on earth. Give us strength and discernment, and recognize your presence in everything we do for your glory’s sake. Pray that we will see things through your lenses and remind us of your love, grace, and mercy in every step we make. Forgive us as we sometimes have only focused on the miracles themselves and forgot you are the powerful and gracious God who has done the miracles! We give thanks to you as we are always precious in your sight! In Jesus name. Amen.

Since Luke & Acts are two parts of the same book, how does the introduction in Luke 1:1-4 connect with the introduction in Acts? What does it tell us of the purpose of this book?
If we read Luke 24:45-53 alongside our passage, what does it teach us about who the Holy Spirit is?
What does it mean to be a witness? What does it mean for the Apostles who were with Jesus to be his witnesses?
What is the link between the Holy Spirit and bearing witness?
