CONSIDER
As a pastor, I find approaching conversations around gender and sexuality difficult because they are extremely personal. We are talking about congregation members, friends, and family. The main reason for diving into this series for the next three weeks is to equip us to be able to talk about gender and sexuality in a way that is faithful to Scripture and draws people toward the love of Christ.
This week, we will be looking at the bigger story of Scripture and how the gospel is Good News for our sexuality. For parents who are bringing their youth into service, we hope our sensitive way of approaching this will help you grow and be able to journey and form your family in the story of Scripture.
Please continue to pray for us as we prepare to preach and we will be having a Q&A session on November 23 rd @ 11am at the conclusion of this series so that we can answer the questions that come to your mind over the next three weeks.

PRAY
Lord, we pray that as you approached the women at the well (John 4) full of grace and truth, we will be able to approach conversations about gender and sexuality with the same way. Holy Spirit, help us to emulate the approach of Christ that has grace for those navigating the road alongside a kindness to point people back to God’s Word and the work of Christ. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
DIVING DEEPER
Read Romans 12:1-2
How does a life of worship connect with our sexuality?
Part 1: Read Genesis 1:27
What is the significance of the following words: Created, Image, Male & Female?
Part 2: Read Genesis 3:14-19 (curses), Genesis 3:22-23 (separation), and Romans 1:21-25 (disordered desires)
How do each of these sections speak to the depth of sin?
Part 3: Read Romans 8:12-16.
What was our former identity? What new identity has God given us? How does being called a child of God change the way we understand our identity?
How does our creation identity (created in the image of God) and our salvation identity (children of God) shape all our other identities?
