Building the Culture of Hope

Building the Culture of Hope

READ

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

CONSIDER

Church life is the community of faith and is crucial for our spiritual growth. However, another community of faith was often overlooked is our family and it is the place that has the most impact on our faith development especially for the younger generations. Starting this week for 4 weeks, we will explore together the importance of the family discipleship through our time, moments and milestones together as a family.

This week, we learn together the importance of building the culture of H.O.P.E. in our family that will help us to grow together. The H.O.P.E. is an acronym of Honor, Openness, Proximity and Empowerment. The culture of H.O.P.E. applies not only to our immediate family and extended family, but also to our church family.

I encourage you to read the scripture from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and Mark 12:28-34 and reflect on putting God first in our family which is the best thing we can do for our children.

PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us family, the family we belong to and learn to grow together in Christ. May the Holy Spirit reveal how we encourage one another to embrace the grace and hope from our Lord Jesus Christ. Give us the humble heart to follow God and put God first. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

DIVING DEEPER

Discipleship is intentional. Reflect on how God will make use of family time to disciple one another.

Do an inventory check on how we use our time together as a family. Do we put God as our top priority?

How would we adjust our time and habits to build the culture of H.O.P.E.?
