CONSIDER
Snow days are magical as a child, but as a parent, they lead to chaos as we scramble to find childcare options in the midst of school closures. On Thursday, I found myself stuck at home with all of our kids & instead of seeing it as a beautiful moment to spend intentional time with them, I was stressed about how I was going to get my work done. Instead of welcoming their interruptions, I was trying to squeeze in time for my tasks between shoveling and feeding them.
Ironically, as we continue our series on Family Discipleship, I am preaching on being intentional with our time, which is clearly an area I can grow in! Thankfully, there is so much grace for us when we fail to be as intentional as we desire with our time.
Whether we are in person or online this weekend, I look forward to learning and growing together as we explore whether our use of time is shaped by the tyranny of the urgent or our gospel-centered priorities.

PRAY
Read through the Shema (Deut 6:4-9) and pray this over your family.
Ask God to show Himself to you, experience His love, and intentionally pass on the faith to those around you.
DIVING DEEPER
Read through Deuteronomy 6:4-9. Why is it important to know who God is, love Him, and intentionally teach the next generation?
When you pray, do you focus on provision, material success, safety or for a passionate and vibrant faith? What we focus on in prayer exposes what our heart values.
What is shaping your use of time? The tyranny of the urgent or your gospel-centered priorities?
How is God nudging you to be intentional as a family?
