Sundays | 11:15am | Room 163
(begins April 14, 2024)
Facilitators: Annie Yien, Nancy Law, Ruby and Vincent Poon, Vivien Gam
This is a class where you will find space for conversations on mental illness, health and wellbeing. It is a learning opportunity in equipping our SCBC community to become a sanctuary where people with mental health challenges feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging.
There will be 8 sessions: Mental Health, Stigma, Mental Illnesses, Recovery, Care Giving, Companionship Self Care, and Reflection.
Each session is accompanied by a 20-minute video that features the story of a Christian with lived experience of a mental health challenge, along with the insights of church leaders, theologians, and mental health professionals.
Course facilitators will then give a brief talk on the session topic from a psychological, social and/or theological perspective followed by guided discussions and open conversations.
Hope to see you all there!
