When the Holy Spirit Throws You A Curveball

When the Holy Spirit Throws You A Curveball

Acts 16:6-15

CONSIDER

Faithful disciples of Christ always ask God this particular question:  “How do I know God’s vision and plans for our lives?”  I wish I can write a book on the 10 ways to know God’s vision but I cannot because there are no bullet proof ways. There are some things we can do to prepare ourselves listening to God. However, the longer I walk with God, I understand more deeply God is sovereign and His plans are better than mine.  I just have to keep humble to listen.

When Paul was called by God to be the ambassador of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I am sure he had his strategies and plans in mind. At the beginning of the Book of Acts chapter 16, he was called to Lystra to strengthen churches where he had traumatic experiences before.  God let him see the results immediately as I believe he overcame the fear and anxiety to go there. I am sure he was very excited at that time and continued the missionary journey afterwards.  However, Holy Spirit had another plan for him and his team.

This week, I would like you to dive deep on Acts 16 in entirety.  Imagine yourself as Paul and go through the emotional and physical journey in this chapter. Ask yourself this question after you read:  “How do I know God’s vision and plans for our lives?”

PRAY

Dear God, give me the humble heart and attentive ears to listen to the Holy Spirit.  Take away the noises around me and the plans and ideas inside me.  Lift up my eyes to focus on Jesus and His guidance.  In the name of my Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
