CONSIDER

In August, one of my high school friends was back in Canada after being away for ten years.  We had a big reunion and it was a joy because reunions bring you back together with the people you love.  Revelation 19 &21 paint a picture of a reunion between the Christ and his bride (the church) when He returns for the final time.

As we begin a new church-wide series exploring the different metaphors used in the New Testament to describe the church, I hope we will see how the Bride of Christ is called to love in the way Christ did by giving up his life & to be a holy people who bear witness to Christ.

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

PRAY

As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:14-16)

Lord, as the bride of Christ, help us to be a holy people, transformed by the Spirit, who bear witness to Christ in our church, homes, workplace, school & community for your glory.  Amen.

DIVING DEEPER

How can we live closer WITH GOD in our lives?

How are we being TRANSFORMED to be more like Christ?

How is the Holy Spirit empowering us to imitate Christ in what we DO this week?
