Colossians 4:2-6
CONSIDER
There are 2 ancient Greek words that have the meaning of time: “Chronos” and “Kairos”. You might be familiar with the word “Chronos” as it is the root for the English adjective word “Chronological”. It refers to measured, sequential and quantitative time. As God does not show favoritism, everyone has the same amount of “Chronos” time. We can plan how we use and prioritize it. However, the question is – what are our priorities? Or most importantly, who is our priority? Our life will be radically different if we can plan our time when God is our only priority.
This week, we are going to talk about the second ancient Greek word of time – “Kairos”. It refers to opportune time or moment. Unlike “Chronos”, we cannot plan “Kairos” time. When the “Kairos” comes, we can only make sense of it. Proverbs 16:9 says, “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” We can always plan our “Chronos”, but we can only prepare for the “Kairos” when our God allows His moments to happen in our lives and families. We should pray and watch out for the coming of God’s moments. When the moments come, we should pinpoint the grace and the guidance of God in these moments. To find God in these moments, we must prepare to respond, otherwise, the God’s moments will slip away and be wasted. Let us dive deep in the Scripture Col 4:2-6 and prepare for God’s revelation to us this week.

PRAY
Dear Heavenly Father, give us the wisdom to prepare our time for Your glory. At the same time, be sensitive to what God is intervening in our lives and families. Lord, please reveal Yourself to us and let us experience Your grace and guidance through those moments so that our families can grow together. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
