Psalm 100
CONSIDER
Psalm 100 is a Psalm of Thanksgiving. This short Psalm of only 5 verses really encourages us to be a person of thanksgiving. Apostle Paul said in Epistle of 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 that give thanks in all circumstances. Psalm 100 indeed gives us the reason why we need to give thanks in all circumstances, not just favorable circumstances, but also unfavorable.
What does it mean by let God be God? It does not mean we have the authority to decide who is God. It means that we acknowledge and believe God’s sovereignty, power, love and faithfulness. Despite our shortcomings and inadequacies or facing unfavorable circumstances, we believe our loving God is still in control and taking care of us. Therefore, we can give thanks in all circumstances. This week’s sermon will help us understand how to live a life of thanksgiving as a missional disciple.
Our thankful heart does not depend on circumstances. God’s faithfulness and grace will come to us despite our sinfulness and shortcomings. In this Thanksgiving weekend, let us contemplate on God’s faithfulness despite our shortcomings.

PRAY
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for Your faithfulness in all circumstance. Grant me a sensitive soul and mind to feel God’s presence in difficult situations because I know you are my God, my Shepherd and my Lord. When things are not going my way, give me the courage to trust God’s way. When things are smooth, remind me to thank God’s provision and faithfulness. Help me to continue to live a life to be your missional disciple.
Thanks be to God, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray, Amen.
