Joshua 24:14-22

CONSIDER

We are all someone’s children, we may be parents to our children, we may be grandparents, we may be uncles and aunties, or we may be part of the family in some kind.  No matter what roles we are playing in our families, I believe God would like to see us to be transformed by God’s grace in our daily life with our family members.  Family members should be the closest relationship we have.  However, the deepest hurt can also be from our family. I pray that by God’s redemptive grace, our families will be transformed.

I would like you to go through the Scriptures from Joshua 24, Judges 1 and 2 this week.  Joshua led the Israelites and their next generations to serve the Lord after entering the promised land. However, in Judges 2, things changed drastically after Joshua died.  I would like you to read and imagine what had happened between Joshua 24 and Judges 2.  What are the implications to us today as a family?

PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father, may Your grace dwell in our family deeply. May Your redemptive grace be our daily guidance. If there are relationships to be reconciled, may your love compels us to confess with one another. May the Holy Spirit guide our family to make daily decisions to glorify you amidst of our busy schedule. In Jesus Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.

DIVING DEEPER

In your family, how does your daily schedule look like? Do you experience God’s grace every day?

When you make a decision, what guiding principles are you using for your children and/or your parents?

How would you navigate forward to live a transformed life by God’s grace among your family members?
