The author of this book James (or Jacob) who’s the brother of Jesus assumes a position of authority in the Jerusalem church. It’s possibly the earliest New Testament writing between AD 44-49. The readers were the 12 tribes of Jewish Christians who were dispersed for various reasons related to persecutions or pursuit of commerce. It’s a wonderful book, extremely convicting that faith is not just beliefs but works, not just being nice but including acts of charities etc.

There are subjects after subjects covered as Jewish Christians in dispersions had problems of their faith calling for solutions from the Jerusalem church. James as an elder and leader addresses these issues: troubles/difficulties (trials vs temptations), tongue, favoritism, pride etc. The teachings are similar to Sermon on the Mount. There are 2 themes in the entire book: 1/ hatred of hypocrisy 2/warning about double-mindedness. The Lord wants single mindedness, one God that deserves total allegiance.

Through comprehensions, interpretations and applications, we will study together, discuss, share and fellowship about our thoughts, feelings and many more.

Join us online and be surprised about how the Lord can bless you with the book and the amazing fellowship that comes along.
