Many folks today are a slave to “things” and as a result do not experience real Christian joy. Jim Eliot once said, “He is no fool to give what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.”
This is what Paul experienced. He shares with us in Philippians 3 that what he gained through his relationship with Christ is so astounding, he considered all other “things” nothing but garbage in comparison.
