Matthew 7:1-6
CONSIDER
One of the guiding principles from the Sermon on the Mount comes from Matt 7:12. “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”
The reality is that we often treat others unfairly, assuming the worst and judging them in a way that we would not want to be judged ourselves. Matthew 7 challenges to introspection before judging others. This is what it means to first pull the plank out of our eye before dealing with the speck in our brother or sister’s eye.
This week as we explore what it means to judge and how we can do that in a way that honors God, my hope is that God’s Word will equip us to be a community that loves, so we can continue to be salt and light to the world around us.

PRAY
Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” … and “Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matt 22:37-40)
Lord, helpus to be a people who love you and love others in a way that points them back to the cross. Amen.
