2 Corinthians 8:1-15
CONSIDER
With so many needs in our own church, it can be easy to overlook the needs of the churches around us. Yet, caring for other churches is an important part of being in the body of Christ. In the book of 2 Corinthians, Paul exhorts the believers at Corinth to continue to give to the church in Judea, even though they are struggling with Paul’s leadership. They are reminded that their abundance can bless those in need.
At SCBC, we are part of a body of churches known as CBOQ (Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec). In our CBOQ family, there are many churches in need that we can help support through our giving, prayers and teaching. As we do this, we remember that other churches also pray for us and come alongside us to support our ministry as well.
This week we are reminded: “Don’t forget the other churches.” As we ponder this message, let us think of other churches in our community and in CBOQ that we can uphold in prayer, and support as fellow workers in the Kingdom.

PRAY
Dear God,
We praise You that you have made Your Church a family. We thank You for the gift we have to journey with others in ministry, and that we are not alone as we serve You. We pray today for our fellow CBOQ churches, asking that you would provide for each of their needs. We pray especially for churches that are struggling, asking that you would bless them in a special way through the support of their CBOQ family. Together, we ask that we would move forward in mission so that more people may come to a saving knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ. May we be used for your glory as we serve you. In Jesus Name, Amen.

What is a church that you know that would benefit from the prayers and support of SCBC? How can you support them today?
