Philippians 1:3-8
Consider
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” I love Helen Keller’s quote because it fits so well with what Paul is teaching in Philippians 1:5. He thanks the church for their “partnership in the gospel” because together they are furthering the cause of Christ. The Philippian church shares in Paul’s joy by sending people, aid and resources to encourage and equip him for gospel service.
It is not a one-way relationship where Paul is their father figure. They support each other in the work of Christ throughout the world. At SCBC, we want to be an intergenerational, disciple-making community that partners together as a tri-lingual church with other gospel partners to proclaim the Kingdom of God near and far.
Come join us Sunday during our mission month as we explore our call to form gospel partnerships that will transform us and the world for His glory.

Pray
Father, help us to see that our call to fulfill the Great Commission happens when we are empowered by your Spirit and when we partner with others. We cannot do it alone but you have given us the gift of Christian fellowship for the task of the Great Commission. Let us be a people who are shaped by the gospel and seek ways to partner with others who are passionate about Christ so that your Good News may transform our community, city, nation and world for the glory of God. Amen.
Diving Deeper
A gospel partnership is to enter “into this relationship that puts the gospel as the shared goal that shapes everything in both parties – DA Carson

Is the Spirit of God calling you to partner more deeply with a gospel partner (community organization, parachurch, local missionary)? What is your next step?
Have you experienced joy when you form gospel partnerships with others? What does that look like?
