{"id":16571,"date":"2025-03-02T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-02T15:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=16571"},"modified":"2025-03-03T10:39:52","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T15:39:52","slug":"moments","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/sermons\/moments\/","title":{"rendered":"Moments"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-gdm-google-drive-embedder-viewer\"><iframe width='100%' height='100' frameborder='0' scrolling='yes' src='https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/16FH2SJytiPNIQkAqU7oW53aGGFl6Pyyx\/preview?usp=drivesdk' allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n<h6 class=\"p1\"><b>R<\/b><b>E<\/b><b>A<\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>D<\/b><b><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Colossians 4:2-6<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"p1\"><b>C<\/b><b>O<\/b><b>N<\/b><b>S<\/b><b>I<\/b><b>D<\/b><b>E<\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>R<\/b><b><\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">There are 2 ancient Greek words that have the meaning of time: \u201cChronos\u201d and \u201cKairos\u201d.\u00a0 You might be familiar with the word \u201cChronos\u201d as it is the root for the English adjective word \u201cChronological\u201d.\u00a0 It refers to measured, sequential and quantitative time.\u00a0 As God does not show favoritism, everyone has the same amount of \u201cChronos\u201d time. We can plan how we use and prioritize it. However, the question is \u2013 what are our priorities? Or most importantly, who is our priority?\u00a0 Our life will be radically different if we can plan our time when God is our only priority.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">This week, we are going to talk about the second ancient Greek word of time \u2013 \u201cKairos\u201d.\u00a0 It refers to opportune time or moment.\u00a0 Unlike \u201cChronos\u201d, we cannot plan \u201cKairos\u201d time.\u00a0 When the \u201cKairos\u201d comes, we can only make sense of it.\u00a0\u00a0 Proverbs 16:9 says, \u201c<em>In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.<\/em>\u201d\u00a0 We can always plan our \u201cChronos\u201d, but we can only prepare for the \u201cKairos\u201d when our God allows His moments to happen in our lives and families. We should pray and watch out for the coming of God\u2019s moments.\u00a0 When the moments come, we should pinpoint the grace and the guidance of God in these moments. To find God in these moments, we must prepare to respond, otherwise, the God\u2019s moments will slip away and be wasted. Let us dive deep in the Scripture Col 4:2-6 and prepare for God\u2019s revelation to us this week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\" style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: right;\">Pastor Julian Wong<\/p>\n<h6 class=\"p1\"><b>P<\/b><b>R<\/b><b>A<\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b>Y<\/b><\/span><\/h6>\n<p class=\"p11\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Dear Heavenly Father, give us the wisdom to prepare our time for Your glory.\u00a0 At the same time, be sensitive to what God is intervening in our lives and families. Lord, please reveal Yourself to us and let us experience Your grace and guidance through those moments so that our families can grow together.
