To not be favored can be a painful experience that leaves scars.<br \/>As we continue in our Everyday Wisdom series, James offers us the power of the Royal Law, which calls us to love God and others. When we abide by the Royal Law, we cannot show favoritism because Christ did not when He died for humanity on the cross.<br \/>As we wrestle with this passage, I hope that we will be challenged to live an others centered life in Christ, welcoming and sharing Christ with those around us.<br \/>Hope to see you all this Sunday.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Pastor Tim Sreedharan<\/p>\n<h6>PRAY<\/h6>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Father, help us to be a welcoming people who point those around us to the cross. Help us to step out of our comfort zone in order to call people closer to Christ. Father, help us walk in the way of Christ \u201cWho, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death\u2014even death on a cross!\u201d<br \/>May we be a people who do not show favoritism but walk in the way of the Royal Law. In Jesus\u2019 name we pray, Amen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<h6>DIVING DEEPER<\/h6>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 2\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">How would you summarize the Royal Law (take a look at Matthew 22:34-39)?<br \/>In what ways do I take a utilitarian view of people (pursuing them for what I can get out of them)?<br \/>What does it mean to walk in the way of Christ and seek to build into others before seeking our own wants and needs?<br \/>When we see a new person at church, what do we do? What type of people do we naturally connect with?
