{"id":12371,"date":"2022-07-03T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-03T13:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=12371"},"modified":"2022-07-08T11:20:13","modified_gmt":"2022-07-08T15:20:13","slug":"frustration","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/sermons\/frustration\/","title":{"rendered":"Frustration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-gdm-google-drive-embedder-viewer\"><iframe width='100%' height='100' frameborder='0' scrolling='yes' src='https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1lB_4ElOhlyr5Gr17_EeEhIjLzaMbelqZ\/preview?usp=drivesdk' allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n<h4><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Read<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Psalm 94, Luke 21, 10-19<\/p>\n<h4><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Consider<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Old Testament is not a stand-alone book.\u00a0 It always points to Jesus\u2019 teaching and prophesying of what God\u2019s people will face in the future.\u00a0 It makes one of the best reasons to read the Bible.\u00a0 We love heads up.\u00a0 We like to know our future and want to be in control.\u00a0 If that is you this week, I encourage you to spend some time studying Psalm 94 and Luke 21:10-19.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">In prophesying the intense persecution that His disciples would face as the time of the destruction of Jerusalem drew near in the first century, Jesus said,<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">\u201cNation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.\u00a0 And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.\u00a0 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons.\u00a0 You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name\u2019s sake.\u00a0 But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony.\u00a0 Therefore, settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.\u00a0 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death.\u00a0 And you will be hated by all for My name\u2019s sake.\u00a0 But not a hair of your head shall be lost.\u00a0 By your patience possess your souls.\u201d\u00a0 (Luke 21:10\u201319)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">What does \u201cby your patience possesses your souls\u201d mean to you?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span style=\"color: #999999;\">Rev. Amy Yu<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Pray<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Dear Lord Jesus, as we, the people of God, come to You to worship, may we experience your joy and love.\u00a0 May it be pleasing to you.\u00a0 May your trinitarian presence brings us unity.\u00a0 Thank you for the past; it shapes us into who we are today.\u00a0 Thank you for the present, which carries us to the hope of tomorrow.\u00a0 Teach us how to remember, remembering your presence in the past, today\u2019s grace and tomorrow\u2019s hope.\u00a0 Let today be a time we appreciate one another as a church, a time to remember God\u2019s glory and your guidance.\u00a0 And may today be a time we send forth blessings and words of encouragement for everyone we meet.\u00a0 May your name be honoured not just on our lips but in our hearts.\u00a0 Thank You, Jesus, in Jesus we pray.\u00a0 Amen.<\/p>\n<h4><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Diving<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Deeper<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Jesus\u2019 teaching is often a fulfilment of the Old Testament teaching.\u00a0 Psalm 94 points to Jesus in three ways.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Jesus is the of the earth.\u00a0 (V.2, Jn:22)<\/li>\n<li>Jesus knows the of men.
