{"id":12244,"date":"2022-06-05T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-06-05T13:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=12244"},"modified":"2022-06-08T13:32:24","modified_gmt":"2022-06-08T17:32:24","slug":"ignite-scbc-missions","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/sermons\/ignite-scbc-missions\/","title":{"rendered":"Ignite SCBC Missions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-gdm-google-drive-embedder-viewer\"><iframe width='100%' height='100' frameborder='0' scrolling='yes' src='https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1s-8SxLfhIECeQ8SkbXGlWWMo0isVaDa_\/preview?usp=drivesdk' allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n<h4><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Consider<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">June is the Mission Month of SCBC.\u00a0 It is time for us to ponder how do we live our lives with a mission?\u00a0 In Acts 1, the resurrected Jesus told His disciples \u201cBut you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 We know from the narratives in the book of Acts that many obey what Jesus commanded but they did not do the same thing.\u00a0 Paul\u2019s calling was to preach the gospel to the Gentiles, while Peter\u2019s focus was mainly on the Jews.\u00a0 Some went farther to preach the gospel, some stayed at home to be the faithful witness of our Lord Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Someone once asked me what is my short definition of mission.\u00a0 I told her the mission is proclaiming and demonstrating the gospel of Jesus Christ that God sent us to no matter whether it is near or far.\u00a0\u00a0 What is the mission of your life? How God will use you to be His witness? Let me share the 4 areas you can consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Open our eyes and <strong><em>see<\/em><\/strong> the workings of God around us.<\/li>\n<li>Open our mouths and <strong><em>tell<\/em><\/strong> the good news to our neighbors.<\/li>\n<li>Open our hearts to the possibility to <strong><em>sacrifice<\/em><\/strong> for Jesus<\/li>\n<li>Be the hands and feet of Jesus to <strong><em>serve<\/em><\/strong> the broken, hurting, and hopeless<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">God is always working and He is inviting us to join His work to redeem the world.<\/p>\n<h4>Pray<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for your salvation and your calling for us to be your witness. When we worship you, may your Spirit reminds us that many people do not know you and experience your grace. \u00a0They do not know who to worship. \u00a0May your Spirit search us and enlighten us to find the mission you plan for us.\u00a0 May you give us an obedient heart to follow for your glory and your kingdom. \u00a0In Jesus Christ\u2019s name, I pray.<\/p>\n<h4><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Diving<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Deeper<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Pay attention to God\u2019s work around you.
