{"id":11998,"date":"2022-03-27T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-03-27T13:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/?post_type=ctc_sermon&#038;p=11998"},"modified":"2022-03-29T09:50:47","modified_gmt":"2022-03-29T13:50:47","slug":"our-great-high-priest","status":"publish","type":"ctc_sermon","link":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/sermons\/our-great-high-priest\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Great High Priest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-gdm-google-drive-embedder-viewer\"><iframe width='100%' height='100' frameborder='0' scrolling='yes' src='https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/16nOqjgiNGSSNDYMysEWiFqu7FsC-GNNF\/preview?usp=drivesdk' allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n<h4><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Read<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Hebrews 4:14-5:10<\/p>\n<h4><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Consider<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Barna and World Vision International looked into the lives of eighteen to thirty-five-years-old in countries around the world in the Connected Generation project.\u00a0 Over fifteen thousand young people responded to a survey and translated it into nine languages; Barna asked if they <em>often<\/em> felt \u201clonely and isolated.\u201d\u00a0 The result has shown that 1in 3 adults in the U.S. often feels lonely, and 1 in 3.5 adults in Canada often experience loneliness.<a href=\"#_edn1\" name=\"_ednref1\">[i]<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">If I ask you the same question today, how often do you feel lonely and isolated?\u00a0 What would be your answer?\u00a0 Research studies show that having an appropriate amount of alone time can be healthy and beneficial.\u00a0 However, constantly feeling lonely contributes to many mental and physical health issues.\u00a0 Loneliness is about relationships.\u00a0 We know God through a relationship.\u00a0 Have you ever thought about having God, our Lord Jesus, who understands us to manage your lonely feelings?\u00a0 Let\u2019s pray together and look at the passage below.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"#_ednref1\" name=\"_edn1\">[i]<\/a> Mettes, Susan.\u00a0<em>The Loneliness Epidemic: Why So Many of Us Feel Alone&#8211;and How Leaders Can Respond<\/em>. Amy Yu<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Pray<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Father God, whether it is something that I feel honourable or not, they are all in your sight.\u00a0 Sometimes I think of life as a struggle.\u00a0 So many people are grieving the loss of a loved one.\u00a0 Others have experienced the pain of divorce or broken relationships.\u00a0 Some have lost jobs.\u00a0 Many are facing huge debts.\u00a0 Others are hurting for grown children who seem to have lost their way.\u00a0 Some are facing new diagnoses and health issues.\u00a0 Others are still waiting for answered prayers, feeling like God, you have somehow forgotten us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">Though people surround me, yet lonely inside, struggling through fears and darkness, battling worry, here is nothing that I can hide from you.\u00a0 So let nothing would hinder me from coming before your throne today.\u00a0 When reading your Word, I pray your Holy Spirit will speak with me.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name, I pray, Amen.<\/p>\n<h4><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Diving<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">Deeper<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">What does a priest do for himself and his people?\u00a0 (5:1-4)<br \/>What does the Great High Priest (Jesus) do for Himself and His people?
