{"id":7269,"date":"2017-08-06T19:18:34","date_gmt":"2017-08-06T23:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/?post_type=ctc_event&#038;p=7269"},"modified":"2018-09-22T19:33:57","modified_gmt":"2018-09-22T23:33:57","slug":"prayer-fellowship-august-2017","status":"publish","type":"ctc_event","link":"https:\/\/www.scbc.com\/em\/events\/prayer-fellowship-august-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Prayer Fellowship August 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In 1 John\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1283134034\"><span class=\"aQJ\">5:14<\/span><\/span>\u00a0\u201cThis is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.\u201d, we have assurance that God hears our prayers and petitions.\u00a0 When we pray with faith and trust in His sovereignty, we witness His good and perfect will.\u00a0 Allow me to share a recent story that testifies to this truth.<\/p>\n<p>I, among others, have been praying on behalf of a three year old girl who was diagnosed with Meningitis after enduring a high grade, week long fever.\u00a0 Her parents are serving the Lord overseas, in a spiritually dark land.\u00a0 I became even more burdened when informed that an MRI indicated a solid mass, which seems to be infringing on the brain, in her sinus cavity.\u00a0 Needless to say, we were on our knees in the throne room of God almighty\u2026pleading.\u00a0 Many of us prayed that the Lord would shrink the tumour or remove it completely.\u00a0 We prayed for a miracle because we know fully well that our God is able, if it is according to His will!\u00a0 So with confidence, we persisted in prayer that God would demonstrate His power by healing her completely.\u00a0 Two weeks ago, we received the awesome news!\u00a0 She is still being treated with IV antibiotics for the Meningitis caused by bacterial Strep, but her latest MRI indicated no mass in her sinus cavity.\u00a0 The tumour had disappeared\u2026not even a trace!\u00a0 What an awesome God we serve.\u00a0 We give praise for His mighty work.\u00a0 May His name be exalted in all the nations for He is good and His love endures forever!<\/p>\n<p>Please be in prayer for the following:<\/p>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SCBC Women\u2019s Retreat<\/strong><b>\u00a0<\/b>\u2013 We give thanks for the Women\u2019s retreat team for their effort in organizing another fantastic retreat for SCBC ladies.\u00a0 Pray for a refreshing time together in deepening friendships and growing in the Lord.\u00a0 Pray for the key note speaker as she prepares to teach at the retreat, may the Holy Spirit guide her and give her wisdom.\u00a0 Pray the Lord would prepare the hearts of all the ladies to receive His message.<\/li>\n<li><b>Family &amp; Friends<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 We continue to remember friends and family members who are battling illness.\u00a0 Pray for daily grace to endure treatment regiment.\u00a0 Pray for strength and hope to overcome.\u00a0 Pray for rest for those who are journeying along side.\u00a0 Pray for peace in knowing that God is sovereign and His will is perfect.<\/li>\n<li><b>Syrian Family<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 We continue to remember our Syrian family.\u00a0 Pray for the oldest son who recently had surgery for his legs.\u00a0 Pray for patience as recovery time is about 3 months.\u00a0 Pray for family members to support him and find creative ways to keep him engaged.\u00a0 Pray the Lord would open doors of employment opportunities for the father.\u00a0 Pray that our relationship with this family would continue to grow.<\/li>\n<li><b>Partners in Missions<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 We remember our partners in missions at home and abroad.\u00a0 Pray for upcoming Urban Promise Short Term Mission Trip, may our team be a blessing to the Urban Promise community.\u00a0 We pray for our missionaries across the globe.\u00a0 May the Lord continue to sustain them by His grace, and may they find Him faithful to supply all their needs.\u00a0 May the Lord uphold them and keep them in the palm of His mighty hands.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I look forward to a refreshing time of prayer and fellowship together this Sunday at\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_1283134035\"><span class=\"aQJ\">8:30 am<\/span><\/span>\u00a0in the Community Room.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In 1 John\u00a05:14\u00a0\u201cThis is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.\u201d, we have assurance that God hears our prayers and petitions.\u00a0 When we pray with faith and trust in His sovereignty, we witness His good and perfect will.\u00a0 Allow me to share a recent story that testifies to this truth.
