A study of Psalm 120-134
Throughout the centuries, the Psalms have held a beloved place in Judaism and Christianity and in the lives of individual believers. They express in amazing ways the thinking and emotions of the soul, from the highest experiences of joy and praise to the lowest valleys of lament. The Psalm of Ascent is a collection of 15 psalms (120-134). Its poetic features function almost like “15 steps”, which allow Jewish pilgrims to ascent from one court of temple to another. The design of this course is meant to convey a fifteen-step program of meditative, spiritual progress from one step to another in a biblical exegesis framework. The purpose is to inspire a biblical view of discipleship and to foster growth and maturity through spiritual distress, oppression and worry to peace, joy and hope in us.
