Worship Opportunities


Role: Adult Worship Team Members

  • Team leader / lead vocalist
  • Vocalists
  • Instrumentalists - pianists, electric keyboard, guitarist (acoustics & electric), bass player, drummer


Term of Appointment: 1 year commitment or more (can be discussed)

Regular Commitments: 1-2 Sundays/month, Min. 1-2 rehearsals/month (depending on team)

Spiritual Gifts Desired: gift of proclamation, gift of administration, encouragement, faith, interpretation, leadership, knowledge

Strengths Desired: passion for music & creativity; passion for leading in worship

  • Team leader / lead vocalist - people & task oriented; good grasp of what it is to lead others in worship; ability to sing in tune; familiar with worship songs an asset
  • Vocalists - ability to sing in tune; able to read music & sing multiple parts an asset
  • Instrumentalists - skilled musician (ie-not beginner level); able to read music and band experience an asset


Key Responsibilities:

  • To be part of the worship team in leading Sunday Worship
  • To care for other worship team members
  • To attend training workshops/seminars when possible
  • To grow in your spiritual life

Role: Junior Worship Coordinator

Term of Appointment: depends on the number of members in the team

Spiritual Gifts Desired: Gifts of leadership and administration

Strengths Desired: spiritual maturity, love worships and have a heart for juniors

Key Responsibilities:

  • To plan worship (theme setting, invite speakers)
  • To lead worship (Scripture reading, lead prayers)
  • To be a Song leader (not a must)
  • To prepare weekly bulletin
  • To care for worship members

Role: Morning Choir Members (alto, soprano, tenor or bass). (unlimited positions)

Term of Appointment: can be discussed

Regular Commitments: every Thursday night (8:00-10:00pm); 45 minutes rehearsal each Sunday morning prior to the worship service (except for every third week of the month). Attendance to the Thursday evening practice is required in order to sing on the following Sunday morning

Spiritual Gifts Desired: leadership

Strengths Desired: love of music, ability to sing in tune, leadership skills, ability to read music is an asset

Key Responsibilities:

  • To sing anthem to lead congregation
  • To attend regular practices
  • To be punctual for Sunday service
  • To participate in English Ministry and church-wide events where the choir is requested to be involved in the program

Role: Morning Choir Pianist (1+ positions)

Term of Appointment: can be discussed

Regular Commitments: Thursday night (8:00-10:00pm); 45 minutes rehearsal each Sunday morning prior to the worship service (except for every third week of the month). The Pianist is required to have practiced each Sunday's anthem before being allowed to play on stage.

Spiritual Gifts Desired: leadership

Strengths Desired: proficient at playing the piano, love of music, accompaniment skills an asset, leadership skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • To play the anthem to lead congregation
  • Attend regular practices
  • Be punctual for Sunday service

Role: Youth Choir Director (1 position)

Term of Appointment: This not a term position, but you get summers off.

Regular Commitments: Practice once a week, currently on Saturday mornings before youth fellowship time, anthem presented once a month in English service.

Spiritual Gifts Desired: Gifts of proclamation and leadership

Strengths Desired: Spiritually mature; patient; kind; firm; loving. Has musical aptitude; able to teach and work well with teenagers and command their respect; responsible; punctual; fun.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Select song books/sheet music
  • Select anthems to preferable coincide with sermon topic
  • Learn music and teach choir all parts and musicality
  • Continual instruction to bring out their best for God in music and life
  • Maintenance of all books and material

Role: Children Choir Pianist (1+ positions)

Term of Appointment: From September to June

Regular Commitments: Every Saturday 2:00-3:00pm; 6 choir performances each year

Spiritual Gifts Desired: gifts of leadership

Strengths Desired: love of music, have grade 9+ piano level

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play anthem to lead congregation
  • Attend regular practice
  • Be punctual for Sunday service

Role: Children Choir Teacher (1 position)

Term of Appointment: From September to June

Regular Commitments: Every Saturday 2:00-3:00pm; 6 choir performances each year

Spiritual Gifts Desired: Gifts of leadership, Gifts of teaching

Strengths Desired: love music, have choral training & discipline

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach children about music and commitment
  • Attend regular practice

Role: Ushers and Greeters (6+ positions) looking to have 15 people per team for efficiency

Term of Appointment: 1 year

Regular Commitments: 1 Sunday per month; arriving 15 minutes prior to the 9:25 English service

Spiritual Gifts Desired: Gifts of encouragement

Strengths Desired: love talking & interacting with people, have a great smile, and likes to make people feel welcomed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet people in the morning with a warm smile
  • Give out bulletins or lead people to available seats
  • Collecting offering
  • Offering assistance to people in need (as required)
  • Give out/collect pamphlets to/from newcomers
  • Assist and direct people to proper exits in the event of an emergency
  • Encourage members to move from the sanctuary to the fellowship halls and community rooms after service

Role: Hospitality Service Helpers (6+ positions)

Term of Appointment: 1 year

Regular Commitments: 1 Sunday per month, (15 mins before and after 9:25 am service)

Spiritual Gifts Desired: Gifts of service, hospitality, helps

Strengths Desired: willing to help out, love talking & interacting with people, have a great smile, and likes to make people feel welcomed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up refreshments & beverages before morning service
  • Serve refreshments in or outside community room after morning service
  • Cleaning up after morning service
  • Purchasing of snacks
  • Note: you can select 1 or more of these above areas to be responsible for

Role: Baker (unlimited positions)

Regular Commitments: 1 Sunday per month, (15 mins before and after 9:25 am service)

Spiritual Gifts Desired: Gifts of service, hospitality, helps

Strengths Desired: to love of baking

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nut-free snacks and baked goods for fellowship time after morning worship and/or special functions
  • Please contact Daisy Li before Saturday morning of each weekend to coordinate

Role: Adult Prayer Warrior or Prayer Team Leader

Regular Commitments: 3rd Saturday morning of each month from 10:30am-12pm. (4 months - 1 year)

Spiritual Gifts Desired: encouraging, faith, mercy

Strengths Desired: have a burden for youth and want to learn how to develop a prayer life

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pray and stand guard for your group of youths
  • Make connection with your youths
  • Post Weekly prayer items in the website
  • Communicate and encourage other Prayer Warriors
  • Host regular prayer meeting
