Amanda Hui (SummerFun 2008 Coordinator)

"I experienced God many times through His blessings to the challenges in planning the camp activities. God is always faithful in providing the required resources and loving support from brothers and sisters."

Anna Ma (SummerFun 2008 Program Coordinator, Craft)

"I learned from the Craft Planning Team many creative ideas and the skills in selecting and organizing craft materials, and working with the youth leaders in coaching them how to teach the craft items to the campers. It's worth all the hard work when youth leaders showed me their craft samples and when the campers took home the final products."

Fanny Fung (SummerFun 2008 Special Interests Coordinator)

"I enjoyed the fun in exploring and organizing the special interest sessions that included badminton, soccer, music, painting, cooking, dancing. I thank God that many guest coaches served on a voluntary basis. Many campers showed their talents in these interests."

Anna Ma (SummerFun 2008 Program Coordinator, Trip)

"I enjoyed the site visits, exploring the differences in each site. It brought me joy when I saw big smiles on camp staff and campers' face in the field trip pictures."

Albert Wong (SummerFun 2008 Flyer Designer)

"I enjoyed designing the SummerFun flyers though it's a challenge to put so much information on one single sheet. It's so good to see the flyers all around church and in the nearby stores."

Millie Ng (SummerFun 2008 Recruiter)

"I valued the opportunities to meet with young people and getting to know their serving heart and talents."

Minerva Lau (SummerFun 2008 Head Mentor)

"I enjoyed working with the young people and supporting them in resolving challenges. We all have fun along the way. It's a great outreach opportunity to meet with parents and their children and get to know more about the families so that we can support them through the various services in the children's ministries."

Anita Chan (SummerFun 2008 Trip Mentor)

"I enjoyed all the trips myself. I felt great to see the young camp staff all participated whole heartedly and have fun with the campers. I thank God for protecting us on every trip and that the camp staff took very good care of the campers."

Robert Chan (SummerFun 2008 Bible Teacher)

"When I first signed up to be an Adult Mentor I did it so that I could participate with my kids during a summer program. My first year as an Adult Mentor was somewhat unappealing. The Camp Leader and Counsellors all did a wonderful job running the programs and I was just simply tagging along from program to program following my assigned group. Because of that, I decided to take on this challenge from a different perspective -- being more active and involved with SummerFun. When the second year opportunity came along with a request to help out as a speaker, I jumped to the challenge. I also extended my help from one week to two as this allowed me to know the staff and the campers a whole lot more. I have not looked back every since and this is now my fourth (or fifth) year helping out and I'm loving it.

I love kids both young and old. I love telling stories and making them laugh but at the same time sharing the Gospel with them. I love being silly with the kids and playing with them. I love working with the Camp Counsellors for this builds relationship as fellow workers in Christ. Furthermore, I love to say hi to kids and seeing them reciprocate the same during the year in our ever growing BIG church. I trust that God will use me to further his kingdom. My role is to have fun doing God's work and sharing the Gospel at the same time."

Emily Wu (SummerFun 2008 Cooking Team Leader)

"I had a very good team supporting me in cooking all the meals and looking out for kitchen safety, hygiene, and food allergies. It's great to see the young people enjoy all the food and line up for the second round. It's fun to be on the team."

Stewart Fung (SummerFun 2008 Health Aider)

"Young children are different in their characters. Some are quiet while others are upbeat and always bump into each other. There were minor injuries at the camp and campers came to the Health Aid booth with crying face. As I calmed them down and provided first-aid treatments to them, their smiling faces were up again. It's so rewarding to see them up and running soon, and when they waved their hands and said hi to me every time they passed by the Health Aid booth."

Esther Chui (SummerFun 2008 Camp Director)

"I liked the planning stage and seeing the execution of all the camp activities such as Mini Olympics and that the camp staff and campers all enjoyed the activities. It's really a great time that everybody, staff and campers, could bond with each other every single day for a few weeks and we build deeper relationships with God and among ourselves."

Whitney Kwong (SummerFun 2008 Camp Director)

"My two years serving as SummerFun Counselor in the past taught me a great deal and was one of my first memorable experiences that led me to my decision to become a teacher. That's why I served as the SummerFun Director this year. Serving at SummerFun not only gave me invaluable experience that helped me in my career as a teacher, but also kept me more connected and involved within SCBC, especially with the kids! I valued the direction and valuable experience I received from SummerFun this year."

Karen Li (SummerFun 2008 Divisional Coordinator)

"As a SummerFun Divisional Coordinator, I enjoyed the variety of activities, trips and teamwork the most. I appreciated that the team (counselors, directors and mentors) could joke around with the campers and yet be role models at the same time. I valued the close relationships we developed during the camp and the bondage we have now. It's really fun to serve at SummerFun."
