The Reflections

My reflections on this week started with me sharing about some personal experiences with a friend.  More specifically the 2 gideon winter retreats i have attended and how they have really changed my life.  As I was talking about the sharing night last year and how deep and serious it was, I began to realize just how much God has been faithful to me and showered me with blessings.  Now that I think of it I have gotten so many blessings without realizing it.  When my ipod broke, my friend just happened to have an extra one for me! And God has really given me the energy to get through this week of school and has given me really close friends to count on.  So my point is that never take for granted what God does for you and know how much He loves you.  Seriously, He has answered all my prayers in His own time, but if you have the patience the end result is amazing.

- Matt sharing about how God has blessed him (week of Dec 14, 07)

This was the first bible study i ever led, and it went smoothly, to my surprise. Through a combination of personal experiences, and help from hanson (lol), i thought that i was able to get people engaged into the topic of dynamic faith, and how it can relate to our personal lives. Eventually, others began to share inputs and their own thoughts on the topic, and the study grew into a discussion of what we can do about our faith to both strangers and people close to us alike. Hopefully, everybody will live out what they said and be living models of Christ.

So last week I had a chance not only to talk about it but maybe teach about how to express your dynamic faith. Of course you must realize that although everyone in my group was a bit uncomfortable with the subject… I was downright terrified.
Although once I put aside my fears I realized there was a greater importance of explaining what dynamic faith really is than my own personal embarrassment. People do not realize the person leading the bible study is not restricted to merely giving out information, the possibility of learning something is still there.
So, that Saturday I learned something important about dynamic faith. In a way it is not only the one of the toughest things to do as a Christian. Although I highly not recommend putting this on your resume spreading dynamic faith definitely grows both the person and the Christian inside of each of us.
In the end I realized just talking about it with others that dynamic faith does not have to be instantly aggressive but it can be shown in small ways, and whether if I felt people did not get the message or they simply don’t care is not the point. In a way dynamic faith works like an escalator. The real challenge is just taking that first step…the rest will start moving on its own.
