"Gideon was one of Israel's great leaders. He was what was referred to as a judge. While he lead Israel the Midianites made life miserable for the Israelites by stealing crops and cattle. The LORD used Gideon to lead his people against the Midianites. What was particularly unique about the Israelites encounters with the Midianites under the leadership of Gideon is that they were purposely outnumbered. In fact, 300 men (with the help of the LORD) defeated tens of thousands of Midianites.
Gideon was a man's man. He was courageous, a natural born leader. He also was a man of faith who followed the LORD's leading in whatever he did. We can learn from him by following the LORD's leading in our life."
